HK58 Mini Mount Suminagashi: An exquisite Suminagashi monoprint mountainscape! Suminagashi is the ancient art of Japanese marbling. This technique was applied to the background of this piece. Does the marbling look like topography, ocean waves, or perhaps wood grain under a microscope? I'll let you decide. Small strips of reclaimed wood were hand painted and stained to create that clean mountain air vibe! This mini mountain is a great reminder that there are mountains out there just waiting for you to explore! This piece will truly make a great addition to any room in your home.

Each piece of lath was carefully selected by it's color, texture, and character for the arrangement of this design. The natural wood tones in the lath are created by time and from the absorption of some of the plaster previously applied. The frame is handmade from reclaimed wood molding. This is a one of a kind piece with immense character. An abstraction of an iconic American painting by James Abbott McNeill Whistler; Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1 (Portrait of the Artist's Mother) also referred to as "Whistler's Mother". This piece is very close to the same size as the original painting by Whistler. The artwork itself measures 64 X 57; with the frame 78 X 4 X 71. It weighs approximately 85 lbs. A great amount of time was spent making this piece with a strong focus and attention to detail. This truly is a one of a kind solid work of art. This item is sold as is.
