Heather Lee Kolbo is a mixed media artist with an explorational approach. Experimenting with oil and acrylic paints, sculpture, wood, photography, and various mediums and tools. She is able to create a fun and exciting range of artwork which spans across a variety of styles and subjects. If you can dream it, she’ll figure out a way to create it!
Heather currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon. She gathers inspiration not only from people and other artists, but from traveling to new places and exploring in the mountains and around the majestic Pacific Northwest. She is attracted to shapes and patterns in the littlest of things most others may rarely notice. She is drawn to intricate patterns in nature, worn structures and buildings, rusted metals, peeling paint, and the everyday wear and tear of time on objects. She recently started working with reclaimed wood. Heather cherishes the colors and textures in reclaimed wood that can’t be duplicated. "Reclaimed wood has history and a story and I'm just giving it a new life in my artwork."
